Pacing a Phuket filing season without overnight binders
A calendar approach for finance teams who want tax reporting applications reviewed before the rush, not during it.
Filing season on the island arrives with tourism peaks and accountant inboxes already full. Independent review only helps if it sits on the calendar early enough.
Work backward from the filing date
Mark the statutory filing date, then subtract: two business days for your accountant’s final edits, the reviewer’s fieldwork window, and three days of document gathering. That is your latest kickoff — not the day you “feel ready.”
Separate VAT months from the CIT pack
Bundling every tax reporting application into one emergency week creates noise. Review VAT months on a rolling basis; save the CIT package review for when depreciation and add-backs are stable.
Protect one contact person
Reviewers need answers about invoices the same day. A single finance contact who can reach the bookkeeper prevents five-day stalls over a single tax invoice.
Book the exit meeting early
Reserve the exit slot when you pay the retainer. Rooms on Phuket Road fill less dramatically than beach restaurants, but reviewer calendars do fill.
When you request an estimate, include the filing date in the message. We would rather decline a rush than promise a memorandum we cannot finish.
